The curtain raised on the stage of the “Summit for Democracy” which has been much touted by the U.S. administration as the one to “safeguard democracy” and “rebuild a democratic union” from the beginning of this year.

This summit is absolutely an outcome of the cold war mentality of the U.S. which is going after the world hegemony.

The U.S., in the early stage of the meeting, said its purpose is to stand against the “dictatorial forces” and revealed its ulterior motive to launch a large-scale political offensive against the countries including China and Russia which stand as the stumbling block to maintaining its supremacy. It also proved itself that this summit has nothing to do with genuine democracy as it had selected the participating states according to its “values on democracy”.

In fact, the U.S. has neither justification nor basic qualification to convene a meeting for democracy which is the common aspiration and desire of humankind.

That is because the worst-ever destroyer of democracy in the world is none other than the U.S. which has made it its business to commit aggression, arbitrariness and interference in others’ internal affairs while posing as a “beacon of democracy” and has caused catastrophic turmoil   and humanitarian disasters all across the world.

The international society initially saw through the U.S. intention of convening the “Summit for Democracy” which has nothing in common with democracy, and it is now further raising its voice of criticism against the summit.

The Chinese Foreign Minister disclosed the fact that the purpose of the summit is not for democracy but to maintain the U.S. supremacy and to create the division of the world in the name of “democracy”.

The Russian Foreign Minister said that it is hypocritical of the U.S. to take the liberty of deciding the list of invitation to the summit and judging the level of democracy of each country. This, he said, proves that the U.S. is in pursuit of a new line of confrontation in the international relations.

The world media and the experts on international issues joined their voices in exposing and censuring that the U.S. is driving the world into confrontation and division to maintain its supremacy and that it is in its bid to have a monopoly on the “democratic justice” based on its own standard. They further said that this summit inciting ideological confrontation and division between the countries is an outcome of the cold war mentality.

The above facts vividly show the extent to which the U.S. is running amuck to plunge the world into another crucible of confrontation and division.

A prelude to confrontation and division-this is a definition given by the international society to the “Summit for Democracy” convened by the U.S.
