Generally, muscle can be classified into slow and fast twitch muscle fibers.
The former is slow in constriction and weak in power, but it doesn’t tire though it works for a long time. It is mainly used when people do light labour and exercises in daily life.
The latter is fast in constriction and strong in power, but it tires easily. So it can’t work for a long time.
The power people use when they lift heavy weights and do hard labour or high-intensity exercises is produced by fast twitch muscle fiber.
To prevent the ageing of muscle, it is important to usually do exercises which require strong power so as to prevent the degeneration of fast twitch muscle fibers.
Such exercises are chin-up and push-up as upper body exercises and standing high jump as lower body exercises.
In training muscles it is important to combine continuous and slow exercises like jogging well with those which need strong power.
Continuous exercises increase the capillary vessels of muscles to promote the supply of oxygen and nutrition to them.
It is an essential condition for the training of muscles.
