The Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory marked this year’s first sports day with a variety of mass-based sports activities.
“We have organized a variety of sporting events in various ways with enthusiasm for making a big stride from the first campaign of this year to hasten the overall development of socialist construction by firmly training our body and mind through mass-based sports activities,” said Kang Min Sim, deputy manager of the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory.
Mass rhythmic exercises and health-promoting Taekwon-Do, in which all employees took part staking the honour of their workshops, took place at the beginning, firing them with the zeal for sports.
A women’s volleyball match was played between the soap workshop and the container workshop.
Players in the match gave full play to their technical skills as they employed diverse tactics and swift manoeuvres in positive response to the cheers of rooters.
A men’s volleyball game played between the staff and personnel offices attracted the attention of spectators as it was really a blistering play.
“It is not long since I was appointed to the factory. I have watched the volleyball match of our factory officials for the first time today and their level is really amazing. Nearly 60-year-old officials jumped high to spike. Their appearance was very impressive,” said worker Kim Hye Gyong.
The mixed doubles table tennis game between the staff office and the cosmetics institute also left a deep impression.
Contending for victory neck and neck, Kim Ki Hyok and Cha Kum Ju of the staff office won the game, finally making it possible for the staff office to continuously possess the rotating trophy of the factory.
“I think that all the work can be done properly only when all officials become the model of masses. We will conduct more brisk mass-based sports activities to make our factory overflow with liveliness and spirit and boost cosmetics production with high-pitched enthusiasm,” said Kang Min Sim.
