Pyongyang Teachers Training College, a base for training talents in primary education, located in the capital city of Pyongyang, is associated with the leadership exploits of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .

Kim Jong Un , who pays close attention to the education of the rising generations, unfolded a plan to build up my college as a model college, where education is put on a scientific, IT and modern footing, and solved the problems arising in its renovation project.

On January 16, Juche 107 (2018), when it was sleeting, he visited my renovated college.

After entering the campus with a beaming smile on his face, he looked round several places including academic and science exhibition hall, education control room and multifunctional lecture room, learning in detail the college had been renovated and how it was conducting instruction and edification.

He said that all the lecture rooms had turned to be multifunctional for practical education in specialized subjects, and the method of giving lessons in virtual and actual situations was novel and distinctive. In a room for learning teaching methods for experiment in natural sciences, he saw a lecture given by using experimental and practical apparatuses.

It is important to improve the pupils’ level of recognition by making use of equipment including electronic board and rectangular displaying device, but what is more important is to apply teaching methods suited to their characteristics of the ages and psychology, he noted, making us realize once again the standards of creating teaching methods.

Then, looking round the fine art and sight reading and singing room, IT and audio-visual practice room, teaching aid laboratory and programming room, he gave instructions on improving the teaching contents and methods. He also looked round the room for diffusing the techniques of developing children’s intelligence, in which the kindergarten, primary school and family education environments are simulated as suited to the characteristics of my college which majors on teaching children of preschool age and primary school pupils. He also looked round the college gym, dormitory and library.

After looking round all the places in the college with great satisfaction, he said that he felt as if he had plucked stars from the sky and provided “golden cushions” for the educationists who are in charge of the future of the country, and that he could vividly visualize the rosy future of the country. Then, he had a photograph taken with the teaching staff and students of the college with the hope that the kindergarten and primary school teachers trained in the college would be strong roots and foundation for the education of the rising generations.

His instructions on that day were programmatic guiding principles, which the sector of primary education should uphold.

In order to repay his affection and trust, we have made many achievements in education over the past years. We improved the teaching contents, and developed and applied the teaching methods in which modern educational science and technology are introduced. We created tens of new teaching methods including teaching method in the 3D environment practice room, method for developing children’s intelligence by using abacus and method of appraising children’s abilities by using robot.

My college is playing the role of a centre of academic research and diffusion for other teacher training colleges across the country. Now, many graduates of the college are making excellent achievements in training the rising generations.

We will train a larger number of teachers equipped with ennobling spiritual and moral traits and high practical abilities true to Kim Jong Un ’s idea of attaching importance to education and talents.
