In recent years, the Forest Equipment and Materials Factory has turned out sufficient amount of quality products of various kinds through home production and recycling of raw and other materials.
Manager Ri Jae Hyok says:
"The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea stressed that the land administration and city management sectors should push ahead with afforestation, river improvement and anti-landsliding projects the year round, aiming at thoroughly protecting the lives and property of the people and the land of the country.
We worked out a detailed plan and allot work correctly for production.
Especially, we are concentrating efforts on developing a lot of new equipment and materials needed for afforestation and improving their quality."
This year the factory has planned lots of things.
The most important of them is training talents.
At first, the recycling faced many technical problems. But the technical forces were not competent enough to solve them. After repeated failures, however, the factory finally solved the problems. In those hard days, its employees were convinced that any success is impossible apart from the role of the talents.
Therefore, the factory drew up a concrete plan for training its own talents and is carrying it out with responsibility.
The factory built a data base on the latest forest science and technology in the sci-tech learning space in close contact with scientific research institutions, and runs it on a normal basis.
It enrolled some of the newcomers in the study-while-you-work system at the beginning of the year so that they can enrich their knowledge and acquire necessary expertise.
It involves young technicians and skilled workers in important technical innovations to train them in practice. It assigns the talents trained this way to the right posts, values the ideas conceived by employees during technical innovations and backs them to materialize those ideas.
Training talents is the first consideration with the factory. It represents yesterday and today of the factory which has developed by the key role of the talents.
