State emergency measures are taken with a blitz to promptly deter the spread of the pandemic in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
According to the urgent steps taken by the Workers' Party of Korea and the government, all the provinces, cities and counties across the country have been completely blocked with a region as unit and every unit for work, production and residence tightly closed from the morning of May 12 and now strict intensive examination for all the inhabitants is being made.
More than 1,349,000 persons have been involved in the hygienic propaganda, checkup and examination and medical treatment. They are now finding out all those in a fever and with abnormal symptoms to thoroughly isolate them from others for treatment.
More and more anti-epidemic posts have been set up to completely cut off the inflow of the malignant virus and the space of its spread and an intensive work is done to find out all the imperfections and weak points in every unit and region and take necessary measures.
Medicines are urgently transported to the preventive and curative organs across the country including the hospitals and clinics and they are supplied on time.
Many leading officials including officials of departments of the Party Central Committee and officials of the ministries and national agencies have actively turned out to contribute surplus medicines.
The public health and anti-epidemic sectors are closely observing the characteristics of the course of the disease among those in a fever and confirming scientific and rational strategy for treatment.
The Pyongyang City People's Committee and other Provincial, City and County People's Committees and the Provincial Rural Economy Committees are taking measures with responsibility to supply materials to the institutions, industrial establishments and residents in their regions and service squads for living of the inhabitants are formed one after another across the country.
