A few days ago, the Commander of the Strategic Command of the U.S. Army stressed that the U.S. is faced with a “crisis of nuclear threat”, which it had only a few times in its history, while kicking up a row at the Congress about “nuclear threats” to the U.S. from Russia and China.

In this connection, Chinese newspaper “Global Times” made a commentary to the effect that Washington is trying to obtain its “nuclear freedom” by inventing a “nuclear threat” from China. In it, it sharply criticized the U.S. for justifying its “nuclear freedom” and “nuclear hegemony” by arousing public opinion about an “alarming expansion” of strategic nuclear arsenal of China, and possibility of the “use” of nuclear weapons in the straits of Taiwan.

It continued to reveal that the U.S., though it has the biggest arsenal of nuclear weapons on earth, is expanding its nuclear forces overseas while spending a lion’s share of its fund to modernize nuclear weapons, and maintaining a low threshold of the use of nuclear weapons.

The commentary also emphasized that “absolute superiority” and “absolute security” pursued by the U.S. in the nuclear issue will certainly bring insecurity upon all countries including the U.S.

This does not stand to reason at all that the U.S. is shouting an alarm about “nuclear threat” from somebody when it is the one and only country in the world which is a nuclear criminal state, and has a huge arsenal of nuclear weapons.

According to data, the U.S. has possessed more than 5,550 nuclear warheads which is equivalent to 43% among over 13,000 nuclear warheads existing in the world at present.

Notwithstanding this, the U.S., mouthing phrases about “nuclear threat” from somebody, is rather scheming to drastically increase the amount of budget from US$ 27.7 billion to US$ 34.4 billion in its defense budget for 2023 fiscal year, for the upkeep and upgrade of its arsenal of nuclear weapons.

The U.S., after its decision to transfer technology on building nuclear-powered submarine to Australia, recently announced a joint statement with “AUKUS” committing itself to cooperating in the development of the capacity for hypersonic weapon and electronic warfare. Like this, it is open in its attempt for nuclear proliferation.

Even now, the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, nuclear-powered strategic bomber and nuclear-powered submarine are on a roving mission in the different oceans of the world as if they are their own houses, causing constant threats and blackmail to the countries which stand for independence against imperialism.

The reality clearly shows that the U.S.is none other than the ringleader of posing real “nuclear threats”, and that it is indeed a root cause of threatening and undermining global peace and stability.

All the countries and people aspiring for independence and justice should remain vigilant about, and categorically oppose and reject the U.S. which has an indiscreet ambition of nuclear hegemony to plunge the world into a scourge of nuclear war.
