Conflict between Russia and the West is becoming acute assuming much serious dimension with each passing day over the Ukrainian crisis.
As it is known, the U.S. and the West, after the Ukrainian crisis broke out, have put President Putin and other high-ranking officials of Russia in the list of sanctions, expelled Russia from SWIFT and imposed series of sanctions on it amounting to thousands times until now, in order to isolate and stifle Russia politically and economically.
Such a hostile act is, of course, incurring strong denunciation and backlash from Russia.
It was only a few days ago when Russia issued a Presidential decree on repealing the system of simplifying the issuance of visa to high-ranking officials from the non-friendly states as a countermeasure against ever-worsening sanctions of the U.S. and the West.
Immediate after the decree was announced, another Presidential decree was ratified on prohibiting trade and financial transactions with juridical and natural persons who were put in the list of sanctions by Russia.
The decree stipulates that foreign juridical and natural persons who are in the list of sanctions by Russia cannot conduct any transactions including conclusion of external trade contract. The decree also prohibits them from importing Russia’s raw materials and processed goods.
Russian government also took a measure to prohibit a total of 63 Japanese citizens, inclusive of the Prime Minister Kishida and members of his cabinet, from entering Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, in its statement, pointed out that such a measure is a due response to Japan which undermines good-neighborly relations, saying that the Kishida cabinet is unprecedented in its measures against Russia and is taking unpardonable measures such as slander and direct threats to Russia.
As the U.S. and the West persist in their frantic moves to put pressure on Russia, this will invite stronger countermeasures from Russia.
