The nationwide emergency anti-epidemic campaign is dynamically pushed ahead in the country by the united efforts and voluntary, concerted action of all people.

The anti-epidemic units at all levels hold serious discussions to take urgent steps to remedy weak points, shortcomings, evil practices and defects so far revealed in the epidemic prevention work from the critical and developmental point of view true to the idea and spirit of the meeting of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters and the emergency anti-epidemic fields at all levels are busy taking scientific and technological and practical steps to adjust steadily and in a mobile way emergency measures taken after the top emergency anti-epidemic system was introduced.

The anti-epidemic and public health sectors have begun to study additional anti-epidemic measures including the establishment of medicine supply centre and regional medical treatment centres across the country in close cooperation with each other and corresponding instructions are issued to all sectors.

Isolation wards have additionally been built throughout the country and sterilization has been intensified as part of the effort to block the holes in the spread of the infectious disease and its transmission routes as the number of people isolated at home increases. Thousands of tons of salt were urgently transported to Pyongyang Municipality alone for the production of disinfectants.

The Nampho Medical Appliances Factory and other production units in the public health sector increase the production of thermometers and other medical appliances to be supplied across the country and the pharmaceutical and Koryo medicine pharmaceutical factories in Pyongyang and the provinces have staged a campaign for the production of injections and traditional Koryo medicines to be used for the prevention and treatment of the malignant infectious disease.

The scientific research institutions work hard to confirm the transmission routes and causes of the infectious disease more correctly and steadily upgrade the content of the medical treatment guide. They have scientifically fixed the reasonable quarantine period of persons with fever and established the standards for ending their isolation.

In particular, they concentrate on the research to scientifically estimate the trend of the spread of the malignant infectious disease while keeping close watch on the serious situation of continuous outbreak and spread of new mutant viruses in the surrounding areas of the country and making material and technical preparations to cope with the future threats and challenges in an all-round way.

Though isolated in regions and units, all sectors of the national economy focus on stepping up production while strictly implementing the anti-epidemic measures taken by the WPK and the state.

Isolation units have been set in a reasonable way to continue the construction and production while precedence is being given to the management of construction sites and working places in accordance with the anti-epidemic regulations in the major construction projects including the building of dwelling houses and a large greenhouse farm, which have been undertaken to fulfil the cherished desire of the WPK, and in metal, chemical, electric power, coal-mining and other key industry sectors.

The agricultural production units across the country also push ahead with immediate farming while making strict medical examinations of the personnel mobilized in rice-transplanting and the fight against drought and ensuring anti-epidemic rules and orders are strictly obeyed and maintained.

With the state unified command and obedience systems over anti-epidemic work having been reinforced and voluntary unity of action promoted in the whole society, the decisions and instructions of the Party Central Committee and the state emergency measures are now being strictly implemented.
