More and more officials and working people in lots of units across the country, including senior officials of Party and government organs, have donated medicines, grain and money their families had saved to medical institutions, families of war veterans and honoured disabled soldiers and needy families.

Officials themselves, aboard trucks, guide special convoys for supplying grain, vegetables and condiments to local residents and earnestly conduct the work to provide them with convenience in life.

Mobile service teams can be seen active in all ris, townships, districts and dongs across the country. In Pyongyang alone, over 160 kiosks for vegetables, foodstuffs and daily necessities are newly installed in each district.

Nearly 8 000 service teams of various kinds are active across the country, providing households with food, medicines, condiments, primary consumer goods and other daily necessities in advance. The members of the teams number 30 000.

While trying to ensure quicker and more correct supply of medicines to citizens, medics of the Korean People’s Army do good things for the people, including giving a first-aid treatment.

Local residents call their doctors, medical workers and students who devote themselves to the anti-epidemic war “our doctor” and more than 2 400 pensioners who retired from the public health sector volunteered for providing medical service.

Positive efforts are being directed into an offensive to thoroughly block and terminate the root of the spread in advance, instead of passively taking measures to deal with what happens in the present health crisis.

The rapid collective diagnosis teams organized in such central hospitals as the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital, Kim Man Yu Hospital and Pyongyang Maternity Hospital are on round-the-clock standby, providing technical assistance through the telemedicine service system to help other hospitals in Pyongyang and provinces take scientific measures to treat occasional persons with fever and abnormal symptoms so as to ensure promptness in the anti-epidemic efforts.

Detailed examination and analysis are being made in all districts of the capital city to scientifically grasp and control the state of cases with fever, while a work system is being established in each city and county to correctly forecast the occurrence of cases with fever and take necessary measures.

The central emergency anti-epidemic sector takes measures to boost production of masks and protective clothes on a nationwide scale and grasp comprehensively the total quantity of anti-epidemic war materials across the country so that they can be mobilized for crisis-affected areas in a unified way.

The key industrial sectors keep ensuring normal production and gigantic construction projects are going on without interruption to provide people with a civilized living environment even under the top emergency anti-epidemic system.

Farms across the country including those in South Hwanghae Province, called the agricultural province, are striving to finish rice-transplantation in time.
