The current situation of the spread of malignant virus in the DPRK shows a steady decrease from the rapid increase in the beginning, a positive trend towards stable containment and control of the disease and a daily boost in the number of fully recovered persons all across the country.

The Korean people have keenly realized the validity and scientific accuracy of the emergency epidemic prevention policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the state which have been enforced for two years and three months since the start of the global health crisis through the ongoing anti-epidemic war and are out in the fight against the virus with the conviction that they will surely win the war when they regard the policies of the Party Central Committee as their lifeline and carry them through by maintaining a high degree of unity of voluntary action.

Officials of Party and government organs in each province, city and county conduct information activities in various forms and methods to enhance public crisis awareness and sense of responsibility in the present anti-epidemic situation and take detailed and proactive steps to turn their local areas and units into safety zones as early as possible.

They scrupulously organize the work to ensure a steady supply of staple and subsidiary foods and condiments to households and drinking water with high hygienic safety as well.

After being committed to hundreds of pharmacies in the capital city of Pyongyang, the combatants of the military medical field of the Korean People’s Army are spearheading the anti-epidemic campaign in the city by displaying great devotion as befits the special detachment of the Party carrying the red certificates of dispatch inscribed with the emblem of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The medics are voluntarily doing good things for the people including the distribution to all the pharmacies of over a million syringes, well over a million packets of medicines, more than 10 000 pamphlets dealing with highly efficacious folk remedies and “service registers”.

As they supply medicines according to prescriptions in collaboration with civilian medical workers, the medics also give patients diagnoses and treatment. They installed various sound facilities and TVs in pharmacies to explain and publicize the validity and vitality of the anti-epidemic policies of the Party and the state and common medical knowledge.

A great deal of medicines in over 70 kinds went to 4 900-odd medicine management stations and curative and preventive institutions and over 4 300 pharmacies and medicine kiosks across the country between May 17 and 19.

Based on the results of intensive disease screening and medical check-ups of all the people, relevant sectors launched into a detailed analysis of patients according to symptoms, ages and genders and push in a planned way the work to establish a denser nationwide examination network and improve the examiners’ special expertise and skills.
