Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- May 25 marks the 67th anniversary of the formation of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
Leading newspapers here in their Wednesday articles dedicated to the anniversary say that the people in the homeland extend warm congratulations and greetings to all the Chongryon officials and compatriots in Japan who remain unchanged in their faith and invariably follow the road of patriotism despite all difficulties.
Saying that recorded in the glorious history of the DPRK, run through with a heroic epic of creation and prosperity, is the proud course of struggle covered by Chongryon and Koreans in Japan who have emerged victorious and glorious under the flag of the Republic, Rodong Sinmun notes:
The great leaders' guidance on Chongryon and the movement of Koreans in Japan covered all fields; ranging from the organizational building and the ideological work to the struggle for defending the democratic national rights and interests of the Koreans in Japan, contributing to prosperity and development of the homeland and national reunification and promoting the international solidarity.
The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said that Koreans in Japan are like his flesh and blood in the strong ties of kinship although they live far away from the homeland, expressing his will to treasure and devotedly defend Chongryon, the patriotic legacy of Juche, and do his best for the dignified life and bright future of the Chongryon officials and other Korean residents in Japan. His words vividly reflect the great leaders' fraternity and patriotism.
The idea and leadership of a great leader is the first lifeline of Chongryon's existence and activities and the source of its invincibility - this is a major review on the history of the movement of the Koreans in Japan that have advanced under the flag of the Republic.
Minju Joson says that thanks to the respected General Secretary's benevolence for Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, Chongryon is demonstrating its dignity and honor to the world as a Juche-oriented organization of overseas compatriots advancing along the road of patriotism, sharing breath with the homeland in any storm and stress. -0-
