The DPRK implements measures to cope with crises in a foresighted way to prevent the outbreak of various kinds of infectious diseases arousing global concern and turn all areas of the country into epidemiologically safe zones while striving to finally putting an end to the spread of COVID-19.
Paying sharp attention to the outbreak and spread of new infectious diseases including monkey smallpox along with o mutated viruses which spread fast across the world, emergency anti-epidemic and public health sectors rapidly take preemptive and powerful anti-epidemic measures.
In constant contact with medical research institutes, the central emergency anti-epidemic sector carefully confirms the quarantine periods and blocking criteria for epidemiologically dangerous cases by classifying, synthesizing and analyzing internal and external research data related to the spread of the malignant disease, quarantine period and so on according to spreading period and types of the virus.
Research and development are going on at the final stage to complete an image diagnosis support system to rapidly differentiate not only the malignant infectious disease but also various kinds of respiratory diseases. And technical workshops are intensively conducted to improve the professional level of medical workers of treatment and prevention institutions at all levels.
The public health sector is conducting in detail epidemiological investigation of several areas and units of Pyongyang in cooperation with emergency anti-epidemic organs to accurately distinguish clinical symptoms of sequelae of the malignant infectious disease by ages and constitutions and making positive efforts to map out and issue guide manuals for treating the sequelae by mobilizing health experts of central-level hospitals.
Efforts are intensified to complete rapid antibody test paper and antibody diagnosis reagent more technically and progress is being made in using locally abundant medicinal materials to develop medicines, which are clearly efficacious in reducing fever and suppressing viruses.
To cope with the situation where monkey smallpox is spreading in different countries and regions of the world, the work is conducted to draw up and issue guide manuals to detect the relevant virus and establish a scientific test method and system and a technical workshop and the supply of relevant medicines are under way in accordance with a concrete plan.
