The Sangwon Cement Complex in Sangwon County, North Hwanghae Province, is well known as a leading cement producer in the country.
It stands in a place with rich deposits of high-grade limestone and fast-flowing traffic conditions, producing cement for various uses.
The complex, in which all the cement production processes are automated, has established a scientific quality management system in the management method to develop its products into building materials with competitive edge and concentrates on improving the quality of cement.
As technical management has been put on a scientific basis and technical guarantee provided by experimental facilities, check and measurement, and analysis in each process, the quality of cement is improved continuously.
Cement produced by the complex is high in initial intensity and meets the technical specifications for quality.
With the quality being constantly improved, Sangwon cement is in great demand at every construction site across the country.
The complex now produces thousands of tons of cement every day and sends them to the major construction projects like the construction of 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang.
The Sangwon Limestone Mine under the complex carried out 30 000- and 40 000-cubic-metre blasts four times in May alone, thus offering its prospects of massive mining.
The mine has introduced several technical innovation plans into limestone transport and crushing processes to produce over 1 000 tons of more limestone than planned every day.
The complex is overfulfilling the daily clinker production plan by increasing the operating rate of kilns.
