Laotian newspaper Pasason carried a commemorative article on June 24 on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Laos.
Entitled “Immortal exploits the leaders of two countries performed for the development of friendly ties between Laos and the DPRK”, the article said that the close friendship between Laos and the DPRK is unthinkable apart from the exploits of the preceding leaders of the two countries.
It noted that the chairman of the Central Committee of the Patriotic Front of Laos met with Comrade Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, when they participated in the event held in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Bandung conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, in April 1965.
Later, the history of friendship between the two countries was further developed and enriched, thanks to the party and state leaders of Laos, who paid official goodwill visits to the DPRK, and the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the newspaper said and continued:
It is the steadfast stand of parties and governments of the two countries to develop the traditional friendly and cooperative ties associated with the efforts and leadership of the preceding leaders of the two countries onto a new higher level as intended by them and as required by a new age.
The friendship between Laos and the DPRK is everlasting.
