Ten-odd Treatment Posts Set Up in Residential Area

The polyclinic in Chonbyon-dong, Sinuiju City settled to set up ten-odd treatment posts in the residential area after switching over from the state epidemic prevention system to the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system.

That was why there were many households far away from the polyclinic.

While discussing the issue of taking detailed treatment measures for fevered persons and managing the residents’ health in a responsible way, Jong Yon Ok, head of the polyclinic, and other officials of the polyclinic paid attention to the fact that it would take much time for the residents living at a distance to come to the polyclinic.

The head’s suggestion for setting up the treatment posts in dongs and areas to ensure promptness in treatment and provide the medical services in the places received unanimous approval.

Those ten-odd treatment posts were newly set up in the residential area and they played an important role in grasping the health conditions of all residents under the charge of polyclinic and taking the treatment measure for them.

The numbers of recovered persons increased day by day thanks to the devotion of the medical workers who offered the intensive medical services with conscience of going deep into the residents.

In those days the medical workers who were in charge of the university students living in a dormitory contributed to demonstrating the vitality of the section doctor system by displaying a high sense of responsibility and devotion in medical service.

Student Worthy of Praise

Students of Pyongyang University of Medicine conducted medical check-up and examination of residents in Ryonhwa-dong No. 2 in Central District when the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system was activated.

One of them visited Kwak Son Mi, who was also residing in Ryonhwa-dong No. 2.

He learnt in detail about the health conditions of the family members in a friendly manner.

Moved by his kindness, Kwak unreservedly told him that she had stopped treatment for sequela because of several side effects.

The next day, that student visited Kwak again.

He gave her several medicines with a note and said "My mother has symptoms similar to yours. These medicines will help you. And this is the number of a doctor at the university hospital. You need to consult the doctor before receiving treatment."

All of a sudden, Kwak felt a lump in her throat.

She, not to mention her family members, had totally forgotten about what she had said to him.

Kwak held him by the hand and asked what his name was, which faculty of the university he was studying in and where he lived, but he only said he hoped she would feel better soon and left.

That student is Ri Jong Hyok, a fourth grader of Koryo Medicine Faculty.
