Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, inspected the agricultural sector in South Hwanghae Province including Paechon, Yonan, Chongdan, Pyoksong and Jaeryong counties.
Going round fields of various farms, the premier stressed the need for the officials and workers to carry out without fail this year's grain production plan by doing farming in a scientific and sincere way, mindful of the Party Central Committee's noble intention of giving utmost priority to farming in South Hwanghae Province.
Pointing out some deviations manifested in the current farming processes, he called for concentrating all efforts on manuring crops in the latter half of their growth and for taking due measures to minimize damage by disastrous abnormal weather.
He urged the officials to timely resolve the knotty problems in the life of the farmers, the masters of farming, and contribute to improving their livelihood by ensuring the wide cultivation of good species of oil- and sugar-bearing crops.
He also took measures to settle the issues arising in putting every farming process on a sci-tech and foresighted basis, including the issue of putting steady efforts into sharing and generalizing the advanced farming methods and experience and the issue of making full preparations for harvest from now on.
Earlier, the premier inspected the State Academy of Sciences to learn about its development of medical appliances.
