No Statute of Limitations for Crimes against Humanity

Recently, the criminal acts against humanity committed in Afghanistan by the U.S. and its allies are brought to light one after another, much to the consternation and resentment of the international society.

The world people were aghast at the verdict delivered by the U.S. in June after nearly-10-month-long investigation into the U.S. pilots. According to the verdict, the pilots were cleared from the case of killing two Afghans by throwing them into the air out of the plane at its take-off when the U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan in August last year.

Before this shock wave calmed down, BBC revealed a fact in July that the U.K. soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, who launched a “competition of killing” the prisoners of war and civilians, destroyed evidences to cover up their crime.

It is a well-known fact that the U.S. and the Western countries are committing flagrant violations of human rights including genocide of civilians all across the world.

The world people still vividly remember the fact that in March 2019, the U.S. armed forces who conducted air raids on a village in Syria, massacring tens of civilians including women and children, bulldozed the spot to cover up their atrocities.

Since the “9.11 terrorist attack”, the U.S. has conducted over 90,000 indiscriminate air raids in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and other countries, mercilessly killing more than 48,000 innocent civilians including women and children.

According to data, since 2001, the case of civilian massacre by the U.S. armed forces has been recorded to occur once nearly every week, and over 800,000 were killed and millions of refugees have been made in the world by the frenzied war moves of the U.S.

The U.S. established the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and other secret camps all across the world out of its intention to inflict barbarous torture upon innocent people after illegally detaining them. They have become a hotbed of the gravest crimes of human rights violation to such an extent that reminds us of the concentration camp of Nazis during the Second World War.

The U.K. armed forces also did not hesitate to commit all sorts of atrocious crimes against many ordinary citizens of Iraq from 2003 to 2008. That includes maltreatment, detention, collective assault, sexual violence and slaughter that endanger human’s life and infringe upon human’s dignity.

Above-mentioned facts clearly show that the U.S. and the West are committing heinous human rights violations, besetting the innocent peaceful residents with indescribable pain and incurable wound under the signboard of “democracy” and “protection of human rights”.

There cannot be statute of limitations for crimes against humanity.

The U.S. and the West should bear in mind that the day of reckoning will surly come when they have to pay dearly for their war crimes.
