An online meeting, lecture and film show were held in Kampala, Uganda, between August 1 and 3 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Uganda.
They were attended by the secretary general of the Ugandan National Resistance Movement and personages from the government, political parties, organizations and institutions, including the presidential and prime minister’s offices, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ugandan National Executive Committee of the Pan-African Movement, the Ugandan National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Uganda-DPRK Friendship Association, the union of farms and agricultural workers and the national council of women.
Presentations introducing the rapid development of Juche Korea and scenic spots of the DPRK and Uganda were screened at the film show.
Speeches were made at the events.
Warmly congratulating the participants on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Uganda, the speakers said that the relationship between two countries is friendly relations with a long history.
They referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who visited Pyongyang several times and put his heart and soul into the development of bilateral relations.
The great exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who gave material and moral support to the national liberation struggle and building of a new society of the Ugandan and other African peoples and contributed greatly to accomplishing the cause of global independence, will be remembered forever, they noted.
