Recently, China sharply criticized Japan’s “2022 White Paper on Defense".

In “2022 White Paper on Defense” released late in July this year, Japan enumerated China’s defense policy and its measures to build up the military strength and criticized them for causing “serious concern over the security” of the region and the international society. The white paper also asserted that the military balance between China and Taiwan is broken creating tension in the region.

The spokesperson for Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly reacted to it by saying as follows: China’s defense build-up is righteous and legitimate as its purposes are to safeguard China’s own sovereignty, security and development interests. So, there are no grounds for criticizing China, and interference by any foreign force in Taiwan issue- an internal affair of China- is absolutely intolerable.

Then he demanded that Japan immediately put an end to its wrong method of exaggerating the security threats in the neighborhood in order to find an excuse to expand and strengthen its military strength.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of China also censured the white paper for containing China-related contents that distort the truth and are full of prejudice, and disclosed that Japan is harboring an illusion of breaking down the post-war international order by plotting amendment of “Peace Constitution” and dramatically increasing defense expenditure.

The Chinese media warned that Japan’s attempts to stipulate China as the foremost “security threat” and to strengthen regional security partnership will lead to the destruction of the prospects of security in the Asia-Pacific region and only bring bigger potential threat to itself.

Nowadays Japan is making a fuss about threats from others while resorting to arms build-up for realizing its wild ambition for reinvasion.

In June, the Japanese prime minister, who attended the NATO summit for the first time, justified its arms reinforcement, putting emphasis on his sense of crisis with regard to the likelihood of Northeast Asia being reduced to the second Ukraine.

Japan has made public that it will increase military expenditure to the level of 2% of GDP - the same level as NATO within 5 years and is now hastening the amendment of its “peace constitution” on a full scale.

A spike in the bag always sticks up. Japan is scheming to deceive the international society with all kinds of trickery but its inveterate military ambition can only be poorly concealed. The more desperate it becomes in its attempts at military expansion, the stronger the denouncement and disdain from the international society will become.
