Amid the global pandemic situation continuing to go from bad to worse, the public health sector is attaching importance to raising the practical skills of medical workers with regard to the treatment of contagious diseases.
“Experiencing the serious public health crisis in May that can be claimed to be a great turmoil since the founding of the DPRK in May, medical workers have keenly realized the necessity to have abilities so as to cope with the threats of the pandemic,” said Sin Jin Hyok, deputy department director of the Ministry of Public Health.
Now that new COVID-19 variants continue to expand at neighbouring countries and regions, doctors’ in-service training is effectively given in all parts of the country to tackle with any kinds of unexpected public health crisis.
The Ministry of Public Health worked out a detailed plan and implemented it to improve the doctors’ refresher course system and raise the quality of education.
As doctor’s in-service training centres have newly been built, all provinces made full preparations for the operation of centres.
With undertakings to provide educational conditions and environment that conform to the features of in-service training being conducted in close cooperation with relevant regions, a demonstration of the Ministry of Public Health was held shortly ago to raise the business qualifications of officials in the doctors’ in-service training sector.
The demonstration dealt with the problems arising in unifying in-service training from Pyongyang to local training centres and strengthening guidance over their technical methods.
Meanwhile, efforts have been made to distribute teaching plans, textbooks and reference books of Pyongyang Continuous Medical Education College with rich experience in doctors’ in-service training to local in-service training units and to actively share and generalize advanced teaching methods.
Scrupulous activities are being conducted in all provinces to strengthen doctors’ in-service training as required by educational development trend and pedagogy including the starting of operation after completing all preparations in a short time, from the selection of building for the provincial doctors’ in-service training centre in North Hwanghae Province to furnishing teaching tools and upbuilding the ranks of teachers.
All provinces have already started the operation of doctors’ in-service training centres.
