Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- August 15 is the historic day when Korea was liberated from the Japanese imperialists' fascist colonial rule.

The Japanese imperialists usurped the sovereignty of Korea through fabrication of the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" in 1905 and had inflicted untold misfortune and sufferings upon the Korean people for more than 40 years after occupying Korea by force.

Under a planned and barbarous policy of obliterating the Korea nation, they forcibly drafted 8.4 million young Koreans to drive them into battlefields and slave labor sites in the period from the day when they ignited the Sino-Japanese War to the one when they were defeated. They murdered millions of Koreans during their occupation.

Moreover, they forced more than 200 000 Korean women into sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army and mercilessly killed them. Such heinous unethical crimes can not be found in history.

The Japanese imperialists also destroyed and plundered valuable cultural heritages of the Korean nation without restraint and shipped a large amount of natural resources and products to Japan.

The mental, human and material losses of the Korean people by the Japanese imperialist aggressors were the enormous ones that can be neither calculated nor compensated with anything.

However, the Japanese imperialists have persistently sought the hostile policy towards the DPRK for decades since their defeat in the war, far from making an apology and reparation for the unethical crimes they committed against the Korean nation.

Even in the day of their defeat when they have to atone for the past wrongs before the Koreans and other Asian nations more keenly, the Japanese politicians take the lead in making an offering to the Yasukuni Shrine where remains of war criminals are interred, paying a tribute to the criminals in group while praising militarism and swearing revenge.

Japan has got more undisguised in its scheme to usurp Tok Island, an inviolable territory of the Korean nation, specifying the claims to "dominium over Tok Island" even in the defense white paper and diplomatic blue book while persistently clinging to the distortion of history aimed to justify its past crimes and train the rising generations into militarist maniacs.

And it has put spurs to the military moves for reinvasion, branding the DPRK's measure for strengthened national defence, its legitimate right, as "provocation" and "threat" to Japan's security.

It is also getting hell-bent on the moves to obliterate the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, a dignified and legitimate overseas citizens organization of the DPRK, and the national education of Koreans in Japan.

The colonial fascist rule of the Japanese imperialists had gone bankrupted long ago, but the reactionaries of Japan still remain unchanged in their aggression intention to enslave our nation at any cost.

Japan is the sworn enemy of the Korean nation.

It is a daydream for the Japanese reactionaries to realize their old scheme for the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere", the wild design for reinvasion.

The DPRK will never tolerate Japan's reckless reinvasion moves but certainly settle accounts with the Japanese reactionaries down through generations.
