The Hwaeppul Cup men’s football tournament took place between August 1 and 28 on the occasion of Youth Day.
The final match was played by April 25 and Rimyongsu teams at Kim Il Sung Stadium on August 28.
At the match kicked off by the Rimyongsu team, players of both teams pitched a dynamic game as they employed a variety of tactics.
No. 9 of the April 25, which built up the speed of offensive at the latter half, succeeded in a penalty kick at the 72nd minute.
The Rimyongsu which pressed upon the opponent with positive attack to recover the loss scored an equalizer through a header of the ball from corner kick at the 78th minute.
At around the 6th minute into extra time of the second half amid the seesaw battle the Rimyongsu’s No. 30 Jong Il Gwan kicked a goal, resulting in his team’s win by 2-1.
Thus, the Rimyongsu became the winner of the Hwaeppul Cup men’s football tournament.
In the recent tournament there were 103 goals, or 2.71 per game on average. Paying attention to the fact that the number of goals increased at the tournament as compared to last year’s, experts observed that the matches of overall teams got faster and capacities of playmaking and goal-in in the goal area improved a level higher, while various tactics were employed centring on especially those who are good at scoring.
