The Songyo Ceramic Factory increases the variety of ceramic products.
It presented dozens of kinds of ceramic products at the Pyongyang municipal consumer goods exhibition held in August.
They included a tortoise-shaped incense stick stand, suction cups of different sizes, soup bowls and so on, which were favourably commented upon by the visitors to the exhibition as they were ornamental and user-friendly.
Flower pots of the factory, in particular, attract people because of their harmonious combination of beautiful shapes, vivid colours and delicate and refined decorative patterns.
“We put in efforts to develop new products in order to produce even one more kind of product substantially conducive to the improvement of the people’s living standards,” said the chief engineer of the factory.
To this end, the factory built up its technical force and introduced production techniques based on domestic materials, thus continuously designing and making different kinds of moulds of new shapes.
In the course of this, they invented new moulds of sanitary ceramics that remain unchanged in shape during drying and low in failure rate during baking, and laid a foundation for increasing productivity by 1.5 times while reducing the material consumption unit.
They also produced a new kind of washbasin distinctive in shape and convenient for use.
It is popular with users as it can contain much water, is simple to install and meets the aesthetic demands.
Besides, the factory makes and introduces into production various kinds of colour glazes and paints contributing to diversifying building materials.
The demand for products of the factory is increasing day by day as they are high in degree of whiteness, gloss degree, smoothness and mechanical strength.
The factory is now producing sanitary ceramics necessary for the building of farm houses.
