The Society for Rallying Comrades is a party organization, the origin of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The great leader Kim Il Sung put forward an original policy on founding the party in the way of forming grass-roots party organizations and then, expanding and strengthening them. And he declared the formation of the first party organization on July 3, Juche 19(1930).
More than 10 young revolutionaries became members of the first party organization.
The simple name of the Society for Rallying Comrades represented the ambition and will of the young revolutionaries of the new generation who took the first step of revolution by gaining comrades and strove to keep finding out comrades who would share the fate with and rally them to develop the revolution in depth and achieve the final victory.
The struggle of the Korean revolutionaries for party building was vigorously waged during the anti-Japanese war.
Many grass-roots party organizations were formed in a short span of time and the Party Committee of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was organized to guide the party organizations at all levels in a unified way.
On the basis of such success and experience, the WPK was founded in less than two months after Korea was liberated in August Juche 34(1945).
The Society for Rallying Comrades was an embryo and seed of the WPK and an organization of significance as the parent body in forming and expanding the grass-roots organizations of the Party.
