Measures Taken on the Field

One day in July, Juche 107(2018), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the Junghung Farm in Samjiyon City and visited a potato plot of a workteam.

Looking at the farm machines and tractors of the workteam, he paid deep attention to the problem of realizing comprehensive mechanization at the farm.

Saying what he wanted to know with utmost care was the proportion and level of mechanization of potato farming, he noted that the level of the comprehensive mechanization of the farm should be raised decisively.

After a pause, he told the officials of the farm that if they took into full account how many and what kinds of farm machines were needed to do all of the farm work with the help of machines without hesitation and informed the Party of it, it would work hard to carry it into reality.

The officials were excited.

They could feel that the respected General Secretary was so anxious to free the farmers from backbreaking farm work that he took the benevolent measure on the field.

Looking at the officials wrapped in excitement, he stressed that it was the Party’s firm determination to first build the farm into an exemplary unit for modernization of farm machines and, on this basis, turn Samjiyon City and its farms into the standard units of our country whose comprehensive mechanization was realized perfectly on a high level and farms of comprehensive mechanization where farmers’ ideal came true.

This benevolent measure taken on the field was the outcome of the love of the great father for the agricultural workers making endeavors for the country’s grain production.

Saying He Felt Like Staying Up All Night

Several years ago, the respected General Secretary inspected the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm.

It was starting to get dark when he finished giving teachings on many problems concerning the greenhouse construction and operation.

However, he headed for the farm village where the farmers were to move in.

Approaching the newly-built low-storied dwelling houses before anyone else, he touched the tiles on the outer walls and looked round every nook and corner of several flats.

Then he said with satisfaction that the soldier builders did an excellent job.

Sitting unreservedly on a stone chair in the park where darkness set in, the respected General Secretary watched in deep emotion the newly-built dwellings.

He said it was such a pleasant night and that he wished he had a night like that even once in a month.

Then he said it gave him more pleasure when new creations like the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm were built in the rural areas than when a wonderful street newly appeared in Pyongyang City.

He said he wanted to stay up there all night in satisfaction as if he were picturing to himself agricultural workers living happily in wonderful new houses.

The night was wearing on conveying the great delight of the respected General Secretary who keeps all the people in his heart and regards their happiness as the greatest pleasure.
