With the building of research-oriented university going full steam ahead across the country, research groups comprising lecturers, researchers, postgraduates and students make positive contributions to the integration of scientific research with production at different universities and colleges.

Kim Il Sung University solves scientific and technical problems arising in the normalization of production, improvement of quality of products, domestic production of raw and other materials and development of new products by encouraging close cooperation with field technicians and workers.
Research findings made by the university are widely introduced into not only industry but also agriculture, such as the method of applying fertilizer and agrochemicals through drawing water into rice paddies.
It is very popular at many farms across the country as it proves highly effective while saving much labour.
Kim Chaek University of Technology also inducts its excellent scientific research forces into research projects to solve scientific, theoretical and practical problems in the production and business activities of factories and enterprises with which it has maintained relations of technical cooperation.
In addition, it holds field technical classes for officials, technicians and skilled workers of those factories regularly every week and pays heed to building up the database of their sci-tech diffusion rooms to help them strengthen their technical forces.
“It has become a matter of course to visit the university first and discuss the solutions with its research group when we face any problems in the operation of production processes and development of new technologies,” said Kim Sung Hyok, senior engineer of the Pyongyang General Electric Cable Factory 326.
Phyongsong University of Coal Mining Industry and many other universities and colleges also strive to train more talents with practical ability by bringing about the integration of education with scientific research and production while fostering the expansion of production and technical development of businesses.
