Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Modern catfish breeding bases have been built in different parts of the DPRK, bringing into reality the grandiose plan of the Workers' Party of Korea to supply more fresh fish to the people.
The catfish breeding bases are associated with the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has made a ceaseless journey of loving care for the people to bring about a fresh turn in developing catfish farming.
Among them is the Sunchon Catfish Farm in South Phyongan Province.
Kim Jong Un made sure that South Phyongan Province built a large-capacity catfish farm in the Sunchon area before other provinces, and guided the design and layout of the farm and solved all problems arising in its construction.
One day in November Juche 106 (2017), he visited the Sunchon Catfish Farm where catfish farming was put on a Juche, scientific, industrial and intensive basis, and was very pleased to see a lot of catfishes growing in ponds.
He expressed great satisfaction over the stockpiled frozen catfishes in freezers, saying that he was so pleased to think about the people in the province including coal miners who would receive them with joy.
Then he indicated the ways for solving the problems arising in the production and management, including the one of further lowering the standard of feed consumption and the one of putting catfish farming on a scientific and technological basis by introducing the latest fish farming technology.
True to his teachings, the farm has pepped up the production over the past five years, while breeding catfishes of good species to reduce production costs and establishing a process of producing feed additives with its own technology to provide a guarantee for raising the survival and growth rates of fries, and thus supplied large amounts of catfishes to the people in the province. -0-
