Premier Kim Tok Hun, who is also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, made an inspection tour of different sectors of the national economy.
At the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, a leading power generation base of the country, Kim gave pep talks to the workers of the complex who have achieved innovative successes in increasing power generation with a determination to victoriously conclude this year, a year of key importance in implementing the five-year plan.
Officials should keep in mind that the implementation of the national economic plan is an expression of loyalty to the Party and the people and devoted service for them, organize and command the production more carefully and give top priority to science and technology to attain the power production target specified in the decision of the Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee without fail, he said.
As he inspected the Sungni General Motor Enterprise, he noted that it should positively introduce latest sci-tech achievements to manufacture more high-performance lorries by holding fast to quality improvement of products as its lifeline and step up the renovation and modernization project dynamically to further consolidate the foundations for the development of the country’s motor industry.
Making the rounds of several coal mines in the Sunchon and Tokchon areas, he stressed the need for them to further increase the coal output to properly supply coal urgently needed in every sector of the national economy and for the relevant units to offer positive assistance to coal mines with consciousness that they are also responsible for the coal production.
Field consultative meetings discussed the matters of encouraging officials, standard-bearers in implementing Party policies, to give full play to the spirit of unconditionally carrying out the Party and state policy tasks, responsibly managing quality control and giving precedence to the supply of raw and other materials.
Earlier, the Premier visited the Songgum Livestock Farm in Pyongyang and pointed to the need to raise good breeds of domestic animals, take proper measures to supply feed for them and rear them scientifically.
He also learned about the reconstruction of the arboretum of the Central Botanical Garden and took appropriate steps.
