Changsong County in North Phyongan Province of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a mountain county. 95 percent of it is covered with mountains.
The county produces different kinds of juice and jam with wild fruits including wild grapes, tara vine fruit, haw and fruit of Schizandra chinensis rich in the locality, making a contribution to the diet of the local people.
Products of Changsong County are popular at international goods exhibitions as well as among the local people for their peculiar tastes and natural fragrance.
One day in June Juche 102(2013), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Changsong Foodstuff Factory.
Seeing various kinds of facilities of sorting, washing, centrifuging and evaporating wild fruits at the production site, he expressed great satisfaction, saying how good it is that they had been manufactured by the efforts of the factory.
And he praised that the products of the factory are as good as those produced at a factory under the central authority.
That day, he stressed that the factory should train technicians and skilled workers properly by itself without resting content with the successes.
Building the reliable technical force of the factory was the key to its prosperity.
Since then, the Changsong Foodstuff Factory has trained a greater number of good technicians and skilled workers who can skilfully handle the modern equipment.
As a result, the "Hwanggumsan"-trademarked products of Changsong County become more popular day by day.
