To Look back, the 1990s was covered with continuous difficulties and trials.

Snow Philosophy

One day, the Chairman told officials about his snow philosophy.

Therefore, whenever December comes, our people warmly recollect again the snow philosophy of peerlessly great man.

Live for Tomorrow

One evening in January, Juche 85(1996), Chairman Kim Jong Il sat a while together with officials who had accompanied him for several days on his road to the front.

He said to the officials that he unhesitatingly went through thick and thin picturing our socialist motherland, which would eternally prosper, and our people, who would enjoy more worthwhile and happy life in its bosom, and added "Live today, but for the sake of tomorrow"--this was his outlook on life.

Actually, the Chairman had devoted his all to the bright future of the motherland and endless happiness of the people.

This, the Chairman’s noble outlook on life, still inspires our people to the brighter future of the socialist power.

Become Roots

A giant tree and its root--this is not a long sentence but it has a great meaning.

Once, officials made a pledge before the Chairman to perform heroic feats in the construction of the socialist power saying that they would become a leaf of a giant tree.

The Chairman said that he comprehended them, however the root of a giant tree is more meaningful than its leaf and revolutionaries should become the roots. Then he earnestly suggested becoming the roots together.

Truths to tell, he lived like a root supporting the giant tree.

He cemented the single-hearted unity and invincible military power and laid the foundation for the prosperous country by shouldering the destiny of the country and the people with ardent devotion.

As a giant tree is supported by its strong root, our motherland became more powerful despite the severe hardship thanks to his lofty devotion.
