The enlarged plenary meetings of the Party committees of the Cabinet, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport, the Pyongyang Construction Commission, the State Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports took place from Jan. 10 to 15 to implement the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Members of the leadership body of the Party Central Committee including Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, guided the plenary meetings.

Members and alternate members of the relevant Party committees attended the plenary meetings and officials concerned were present as observers.

The plenary meetings analyzed and reviewed in detail the last year's work for implementing the decisions of the fourth and fifth plenary meetings of the 8th Party Central Committee and earnestly discussed and decided on measures for thoroughly implementing the policy tasks set forth before the sectors and units this year on the basis of the important guidelines for struggle fixed and indicated by the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.

Reports were made at the plenary meetings.

The reporters referred to the undying revolutionary exploits of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has brought about a series of miraculous events demonstrating the dignity and prestige of the DPRK before the world and wisely led the struggle for a new horizon of the development of the state, while making a breakthrough in the unprecedented grim difficulties with his outstanding ideological and theoretical wisdom, correct leadership ability and noble devoted service for the people's wellbeing.

The reports said that the major goals for the economic and cultural construction which clarified the policy orientation for the new change and development of Korean-style socialism are the tasks to be attained without fail through a strong will, redoubled efforts and continuous struggle.

The plenary meetings analyzed and reviewed the successes and experience, shortcomings and lessons in the implementation of the Party decisions of the relevant Party committees last year.

Party organizations at all levels put forward plans for achieving substantial fruition in attaining the important goals of the growth of the national economy despite obstacles, in the fighting spirit and banner of the 1960s and the 1970s.

The plenary meetings stressed the need for the Party organizations to redouble their fighting efficiency and activity and thoroughly orient and subordinate all work to implementing the Party's policies.

They also stressed that all the Party organizations should thoroughly implement the five-point line of Party building in the new era, thus further consolidating the political climate peculiar to the WPK, conducting Party work in a fresh way and giving effective Party guidance to the implementation of economic policy.

At the plenary meetings, there were sectional consultative meetings for working out thorough and perfect plans for implementing the Party's policies before their units on the basis of this year's fighting tasks set forth at the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee.

Then speeches were made to analyze and review in a cool-headed way the implementation of the state plans and policy tasks of relevant sectors and units.
