Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- Ryanggang Province of the DPRK strives to bring about a radical turn in potato farming for this year.
The province is pushing ahead with the work to increase the production of high-yielding potato seed and properly distribute varieties so as to minimize damage by disastrous abnormal weather.
Agricultural science research institutes in the province have stepped up the research into perfecting the farming method for stable potato farming in different regions free from adverse weather conditions.
Cities and counties are directing efforts to the introduction of various substitute fertilizers and growth stimulants effective for improving the soil fertility and the growth of potato.
The province pays attention to the production and introduction of farm machines suitable for sloping fields and to the work for ensuring scientific accuracy of weather forecast.
