Kim Jong Un The schoolchildren from across the country on an expedition of the 1,000-ri journey for learning made by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung 100 years ago left Phophyong of Ryanggang Province and arrived in Kanggye of Jagang Province on the 19th.
They were warmly received by working people and school youth and children.
They laid a floral basket and bouquets before the bronze statues of the great leaders Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in Kanggye City and paid tribute to them.
They were wrapped in deep emotion to visit the historic place where Kim Il Sung sent a telegram reading "Arrived safely in Kanggye" to his father Kim Hyong Jik during his journey.
A meeting was held at the Kanggye Post Office Revolutionary Site on the 20th to send a telegram that the expedition of the 1,000-ri journey for learning arrived in Kanggye to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.
Present at the meeting were Kim Jang Won, Secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Paek Hak Ryong, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials of youth league organizations and the members of the expedition.
The telegram to Marshal Kim Jong Un was read out.
In the telegram, the members of the expedition made a report to Marshal Kim Jong Un that they had left Phophyong on the significant day when Generalissimo Kim Il Sung started on the 1,000-ri journey for learning, and arrived safely in Kanggye after crossing high and rugged passes.
After the meeting, they looked round the Kanggye Post Office Revolutionary Site and the Kanggye Inn Revolutionary Site and conducted various political and cultural work including art propaganda activities.
