Meeting of Non-Permanent State Commission of Space Science and Technology held

A regular meeting of the Non-Permanent State Commission of Space Science and Technology was held at Kim Il Sung University on the 23rd.
It was guided by its Chairman Pak Thae Song, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Attending the meeting were members of the Non-Permanent State Commission of Space Science and Technology and officials concerned of the National Aerospace Development Administration, the State Commission of Science and Technology, the Education Commission, the State Academy of Sciences, universities and scientific research institutions.
The meeting summed up the implementation of research projects of universities and scientific research institutions for last year and the first quarter of the year 2023 and assignments of members of the commission and seriously discussed the successes, shortcomings and ways for overcoming them.
Assignments were given to the members of the commission for the second quarter of the year.
The meeting stressed the need to carry out the research projects for this year unconditionally and in time, well aware of the significance and importance of hitting the stepwise goals of space development plan in powerfully promoting the overall development of socialist construction, and concentrate efforts on the research into key technology for the development of artificial earth satellite and the research projects of space science and technology concerning the agricultural production, meteorological observation, resources survey, inspection of disasters including typhoon, flood and tidal waves and the development of Korean-style communication system.
The Non-Permanent State Commission of Space Science and Technology was formed according to the state measures for bringing about a fundamental change in the space development by involving the universities and scientific research institutions in the research into space science and technology. Its regular meeting will be held once in every quarter of the year.
