General Kim Il Sung called at the house of the family of a guerrilla when he visited the then Sinhung village in Jongsong County in Korea after crossing the Tuman River to hold a meeting on Kumsan Hill on May 28 1933.
The General had a talk with the family members after lunch. And he went out and found something looking down on the ground. Then he scooped out standing water in a place where the family members had stopped digging a well outside the fence and began to dig the soil.
The family members were surprised. When he had come here in spring two years ago, he had heard that they felt inconvenience in life as the well was far from their home. The General remembered it and was going to dig a well this time.
The family members and guerrillas came hurriedly and dissuaded him from doing it. But he did not stop digging a well, saying he wanted to find a spring while they were on a visit to their home.
Some time later, the General found out a stream of spring water under the ground.
Looking at the spring for a while, he said that it was a good stream of spring and asked them to clear the site well together.
From the day, water came up unceasingly in the well, telling about the warm love of the General who did not miss the inconvenience and worry the people felt, though little.
