The chemical machine branch factory of the Sunchon Chemical Complex has recently laid a production foundation for supplying different sizes of elliptic panels by further reinforcing medium- and large-sized elliptic panel production facilities.

The factory developed the production technology of elliptic panel whose diameter is a little over 1 metre and manufactured facilities for the first time two years ago, but it failed to produce large-sized elliptic panels as they required the solution of many technical problems.

Technicians and skilled workers of the factory buckled down to manufacturing the facility after confirming that they could easily manufacture large-sized elliptic panels by way of cold rolling if they found out a way to smooth the supporting feature of each part and vertical and horizontal rotary motion on the basis of their experience of having manufactured small-diameter elliptic panel production equipment.

The technicians flawlessly completed over 1 000 designs in a month while working day and night to develop the design for the manufacture of equipment, thereby opening up the prospect for hastening the manufacture of equipment.

To make an elliptic panel with larger diameter, a thicker material had to be processed, and therefore the factory made close contact with relevant units to secure materials needed for the making of all kinds of parts including the supporting parts and roller and solved knotty problems while positively tapping internal reserves.

Though workers conducted a trial run after completing the processing and assembly of parts in four months by pressing on with the manufacture of equipment, the horizontal motion of rollers failed and the force transferring shaft was bent or broken by the compressive force. They did not succumb to failure but came up with a method of measuring the vertical force of spinning roller and a new idea for making the spinning roller vertically press the iron plate to form a hemispheric shape. As they corrected defects, they finally manufactured a rotato-press working mill.

Therefore, the factory became able to produce and supply any important parts needed for the establishment of the C1 chemical industry and chemical factories and the manufacture of chemical devices for pharmaceutical and foodstuff industry sectors.

After completing the production process afresh, the factory ensured the full operation of reinforced elliptic panel production facilities to produce elliptic panels necessary for the establishment of the C1 chemical industry, including a cation exchange tower, decarburization tower and sulphate synthesis, and send them in time. It now strives for timely production and supply of elliptic panels needed for the construction of a nutritive liquid fertilizer factory in the near future.
