A friendly gathering to mark the 73rd anniversary of International Children’s Day took place at the Taesongsan Pleasure Ground in the capital city of Pyongyang on June 1.
It was attended by Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ri Song Hak, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Committee, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, official concerned, kindergartners, teachers and women in the city.
Present there were Pyongyang-based foreign diplomatic envoys, members and women of foreign missions and other foreign guests.
Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, delivered a speech.
Amid the playing of children’s songs, children growing healthily as the “kings” of the country danced and played folk games to present their happy appearance.
Then, they played sports and amusement games.
The unyielding spirit of little players added delight and optimism to the holiday atmosphere.
Foreign guests participated in the amusement games, revving up the atmosphere of the friendly gathering.
After the games, children danced and rode amusement facilities to spend joyful time.
Meanwhile, similar colourful events took place in other parts of the city and all provinces.
