Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- The Science Encyclopedia Publishing House in the DPRK marked its 70th founding anniversary.
Under the care of President Kim Il Sung, the Science Encyclopedia Publishing House was founded on September 15, Juche 42 (1953) when the postwar reconstruction was in full swing.
When the whole country started the reconstruction from war debris, he took a measure to publish a scientific and theoretical journal, looking far ahead into the future of the nation.
With an insight into the importance of science publications, Chairman Kim Jong Il took measures to set up the Science and Encyclopedia Publishing House as a comprehensive scientific and theoretical publicity center of the country.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid deep attention to the work of the publishing house and gave instructions on compiling and publishing a large encyclopedia with latest scientific and technological data and information and common knowledge in various fields.
Over the past 70 years, the publishing house has brought out more than 86 million encyclopedias, books and magazines of over 4 300 kinds, thus contributing to equipping officials, Party members and other working people with the Party's lines and policies and modern science and technology.
