Clothes with a unique design catch the eyes of the people these days.

They are T-shirts emblazoned with music notes of the song, "We Will Go to Mt Paektu".

Though only the first bar of music notes without words is printed on them with bendings like the flowing melody of the song, the locals immediately notice by seeing only the music notes that it is the song everyone loves and enjoys singing.

"So far lots of clothes have been designed, but it is the first time for me to see clothes with a design of music notes. It reminds me of the day when I saw the Rodong Sinmun newspaper carrying the song, "We Will Go to Mt Paektu", eight years ago with great excitement," says Ri Jong Ok, a woman living in Chukjon-dong No. 2 of Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang.

Of the many poems and songs the Korean people love those about Mt Paektu most.

It is because Mt Paektu is the place where the Korean revolution started.

The road to national liberation President Kim Il Sung opened leaving the bright traces of blood, pushing his way through endless snowstorms and fighting continued bloody battles of the protracted anti-Japanese war in the face of the blizzards of Paektu, the route of study tour of Mt Paektu which was started by Chairman Kim Jong Il, flying the red flag high with a firm will to faithfully carry forward the revolutionary traditions of the anti-Japanese war more than 60 years ago, are now consolidated and expanded as a route of march towards victory of the Korean revolution under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

That is why the song has become the main theme song of the times, though it was produced nearly ten years ago.

It is Pak Su Yon, girl designer of a garment processing unit of the Rungnado Trading Administration, who designed the seasonal clothes emblazoned with music notes by reflecting the ardent wish of the people to climb Mt Paektu, singing the song.

In the Women's Clothes Show-2022 held last year, she attracted the public attention as she came up with excellent designs of various kinds of clothes printed with the national symbols like national tree, pine, and national flower, magnolia, weeping willows along the Taedong riverside, the Ulmil Pavilion in Pyongyang and other national scenery.

She thought over and over again about new clothes designs she would present to the Spring Women's Clothes Show-2023 held in April this year and finally made her way to Mt Paektu in February, she recalled.

"As I climbed the sacred mountain of the revolution, braving the blizzards of Paektu, the melody of the song ‘We Will Go to Mt Paektu’ loved by all flashed into my mind. With what I experienced in those days, I created new designs of clothes showing originality again and presented them to the show,” Pak said.

Various kinds of clothes emblazoned with the designs of rhododendron which blooms even in snow, the Rimyongsu Falls in the Samjiyon area and Lake Chon on Mt Paektu, and a T-shirt with music notes of the song "We Will Go to Mt Paektu" won widespread popularity.

General Secretary Kim Jong Un highly praised the T-shirt on display at the show for its excellent idea.

Pak Su Yon won the top prize in the Spring Women's Clothes Show-2023 in the wake of the women's clothes show in 2022.
