In autumn restaurants in the capital city of Pyongyang serve the people with special foods. Customers take foods they like, which include various kinds of catfish foods such as catfish soup.
The employees of the Pyongyang Catfish Farm feel the greatest pride, picturing to themselves those people who take delicious foods cooked with the catfish they raised.
The technicians of the farm have directed main efforts to raising the effectiveness of feed in putting the catfish breeding on a highly scientific basis.
They steadily thought and studied to solve the issue by themselves.
They built a feed production process suited to their actual conditions and on its basis, put great efforts into establishing the technology of producing different kinds of feed according to the stage of growth of catfish.
In the course, they established the feed production technology and protein supplement production technology according to the growth of catfish, which were highly estimated at the 35th National Sci-Tech Festival last year.
This year, they have developed a new feed production technology capable of raising the protein content by adding bioactive substances and registered it as a sci-tech success of the state, laying a foundation for generalizing it at the catfish production units.
Ju Ka Ram, Chief of the Technical Preparation Section, says:
"We are going to put efforts into further perfecting the fermented feed production technology and developing additives including protein supplement, mineral additives and antibiotics and thus make a positive contribution to putting the catfish breeding on a scientific and intensive footing."
They work hard to produce more catfish and thus contribute to improving the people's diet.
