October 10 is the day when the Workers' Party of Korea was founded.
Since its founding, the WPK has always led the Korean people to victory despite the harsh trials of history.
The great leader Kim Il Sung regarded the Party building as a fundamental issue of the revolution from the initial days when he embarked on the road of revolution.
His original principle of Party founding was the principle of independence and the way of Party founding was to found the Party in the way of laying a firm organizational and ideological foundation for Party founding, forming grass-roots Party organizations first and expanding and strengthening them on its basis.
Starting the Korean revolution in his early years, Kim Il Sung created the immortal Juche idea and put forward an original policy on Party founding, thus laying a firm organizational and ideological foundation for Party building during the hard-fought anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.
In August Juche 34(1945) he presented three tasks of building the Party, the state and the armed forces in the liberated country and wisely led the work of founding a working-class party.
He put forward a policy on founding a unified party involving all the revolutionaries active at home and abroad along with the fighters tempered and trained during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. And he dispatched anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters to every region to readjust and strengthen the existing Party organizations and form new Party organizations in the regions with no similar ones.
Basing himself on such preparations, Kim Il Sung called a preliminary meeting for Party founding on October 5, Juche 34(1945) to discuss the issue on establishing the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of North Korea as the central leadership organ of the Party.
And on October 10, he convened a historic inaugural congress of the Party and declared the founding of the revolutionary Party of Juche all over the world.
With the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Korean people could have their reliable vanguard detachment and political staff and confidently advance along the road of building a new society and creating a new life.
