To run society in a smooth way, women accounting for half of the population have to play their role satisfactorily.

While recollecting one day the women anti-Japanese war fighters, who had dedicated their lives, youth and families to the sacred war for the liberation of Korea, President Kim Il Sung said that his assertion that women turn one of the two wheels of the revolution is not an abstract concept, but is based on the anti-Japanese revolutionary history dyed in blood and the life experience of them as the direct participants in and eyewitnesses of the Korean women’s liberation movement.

Many women who glorified their lives as patriots and revolutionaries have been recorded in the history of the DPRK since the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.

During the great anti-Japanese war, Korean women unhesitatingly sent their beloved husbands and children to the sacred war for national liberation and indomitably fought against the Japanese imperialists with arms in their hands like men.

They defended their country regained at the cost of blood, the land they should never lose again, during the fierce Fatherland Liberation War as they destroyed enemy tanks as human bombs and took the lead in increased grain production and transport and assistance to the front, despite enemy bombings and shellings. And in the postwar period, they turned out in reconstruction by tightening their belts.

The sailors of the fishing boat “Young Heroine, Daughter of the Workers’ Party of Korea” were the young women who sailed out to the sea bravely to land big hauls in hearty response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea for conquering the sea.

Therefore, a woman was represented on the Chollima Statue along with a man as master of heroic Korea.

In the past ten-odd-year-long struggle which brought about the rapid development of the Korean revolution, women performed tangible feats as a powerful force turning one of the two wheels of the revolution for the country and younger generations.

There are the high-yield women farmers on farms who devote themselves to work with a burning desire to become true patriots who support the country with rice, the women officials and innovators at factories and enterprises who do the work of two or three and the women doctors and educators at research and educational institutions who promote the development of the country by dint of science.

The number of women who launch into society is on the rise day by day as they are determined to devote their sweat, wisdom and passion to the state and society as their masters, going beyond the small enclosure of one family.

All of them are filled with pure will to devote their sincerity to the benevolent country which enables them to lead a genuine fulfilling life.
