The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , together with Pyongyang citizens, watched the men's soccer finals between April 25 and Sonbong teams in the professional sports clubs category in the 12th People's Sports Contest at Kim Il Sung Stadium on the evening of October 29, Juche 101 (2012).
The players were in high spirits from the beginning as they were about to show their match to the leader.
He watched the match with a broad smile on his face.
When the match was over, he stood up and said the match was wonderful. Then he summoned the players and coaches of the April 25 Team who won the match and congratulated them.
After a while, he called the players of the Sonbong Team, too, saying that they must feel so frustrated to lose the match today and if he did not meet them, they could not go to sleep at night. He shook hands with the coaches and players of the team and encouraged them, telling that they played well today, it was remarkable that the team, merely a year old, played against the April 25 Team and that he hoped that it would take the first place next time by training hard.
Then he said to the players, coaches, referees and officials that sports techniques, tactical system and training methods of the Korean style should be improved and the scientific level of sports be put on a higher stage, public awareness of sports be raised, state assistance be strengthened, and officials, in particular, should pay close attention to sports and render substantial assistance to this field, and that a hot wind of sports should be raised throughout the country and thus the honour of motherland should be exalted with wonderful successes in games.
