The First Summer Universiad "Youth of Maritime Territory" took place in Vladivostok of Russia between July 21 and 26.
More than 1,000 players from different countries including the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Russia and Belarus competed in the universiad.
Kim Song Il and Choe Hyon Ha defeated all their rivals and took the first place in the men's and women's singles of table tennis, Kim Song Il and Kim Kil Song in the men's doubles, Choe Hyon Ha and Kim Hyon Gyong in the women's doubles and Kim Song Il and Choe Hyon Ha in the mixed doubles held on the 25th.
Earlier on the 24th, Pak Mi Song from the DPRK won the first gold medal in the women's 100-metre freestyle swimming event.
On the other hand, Kim Hyon Gyong finished second in the women's singles of table tennis and Han Kang Song and Kim Hyon Gyong in the mixed doubles respectively.
The DPRK players bagged six gold medals, five silver medals and a bronze medal, totalling 12, in the universiad.
