"Please Let Me Be First Member Taking Part in Rehabilitation Campaign"

On August 1 last, a young man visited the secretary of the primary Party committee of the Taedong Sericulture Management Station under the South Phyongan Provincial Sericulture Management Office. He is Kim Ham Saeng working at the Masan Sub-workteam far away from the township of Taedong County.

He proposed: "Secretary of the primary Party committee, I was told that the Party-member regiment is to be formed. I wanna be first member to take part in the rehabilitation campaign."

The Party official was moved by his words. Kim was demobilized not long ago but has taken the lead in difficult and labor-consuming works. He displayed the utmost responsibility and devotion when he was one member of the Party-member battalion dispatched to the construction site of rural houses in Ryanggang Province.

However, the Party official could not give consent to his proposal; besides just returning from rural house construction site in Unhung County, Kim had to perform wedding.

After a while of meditation, the Party official suggested him making concession to other comrades.

Then he ardently burst his emotion that looking up to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who inspected the inundated areas in North Phyongan Province, he could not help shedding tears and could not get to sleep feeling ashamed of failing to fulfill his mission as a demobilized soldier.

And he added: "Please let me be the first member taking part in the rehabilitation campaign."

As was the same when he was undergoing military service, today, too, he always remains transparent to glorify the honor of Party member in an attitude of soldier under orders.

Thanks to such demobilized soldiers who devote themselves for implementing Party’s decision, the victory in rehabilitation campaign will be accelerated.

Pledge of A New Party Member

Now a lot of Party members are full of enthusiasm for attending the rehabilitation campaign. Among them is Pak Myong Il, a farmer of the 9th Workteam of the Chongsan Farm in Kangso District, Nampho Municipality.

Receiving the news of the emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Pak Myong Il visited the junior officials of the workteam and earnestly said:

"Looking up to the respected General Secretary who personally went round the flood-stricken areas, I have kept keenly again the self-consciousness of Party member. I want to prove my Party spirit in the rehabilitation campaign."

Pak was a new Party member; however, as for volunteer enthusiasm, he was not beneath others.

He has been working as a paddy irrigation controller at the farm for three years after his demobilization from military service. And he has devoted his efforts to farming.

And now, he is the first to Party-member volunteer of the workteam to take part in rehabilitation campaign.

The listed Party-member volunteers are different in terms of length of party membership. But they are unanimous in aspiration and enthusiasm for lightening the burden of the Party and the state.
