Members of the Workers' Party have turned out in the responsible struggle to change the affected areas swept by grave disasters of nature into people's utopias where they enjoy a happy socialist life by putting into perfect practice the gigantic blueprint of turning adversity into favourable conditions presented by the great Party Central Committee.

From the day when the important news of convocation of the 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was reported, the Party organizations at all levels are seethed with the enthusiasm of the Party members for petition and regiments of Party members to be dispatched to the affected areas are promptly formed in the city of Pyongyang and provinces.

Party members of the whole Party wrote their names on the lists of volunteers.

A meeting of the Pyongyang Municipal Regiment of Party Members to be dispatched to a site of recovery from flood damage was held on the 5th.

Lining up at the plaza of the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, the venue of the meeting, were the commanding personnel of the regiment and combatants to be dispatched to the site of damage rehabilitation.

Present at the meeting were Pak Thae Song, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Pak Jong Gun, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet and Chairman of the State Planning Commission, Kim Su Gil, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials of the Party and government organs and industrial establishments, and working people in the city.

The national anthem of the DPRK was solemnly played.

Kim Su Gil made a report.

He earnestly told about the great devotion of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who has visited the far and dangerous affected areas to mitigate the sufferings of the people as early as possible with his fervent love for them.

He stressed that it is a duty and revolutionary task of our Party members to always find themselves in the places with the severest damage and most difficult conditions and play a dynamic and vanguard role, giving vitality to the advancing ranks.

He said they should glorify the precious title and honour of the members of the WPK through their death-defying practice and model as vanguard.

He ardently called for changing the northwestern part of the country into the land of happiness and civilization and making a report of loyalty, a report of victory to Kim Jong Un.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The speakers said that to the Party members, no honour is more sacred and worthwhile than running to the place called by Kim Jong Un before anybody else and dedicating themselves, and expressed a resolve to bravely fight in the van of the damage rehabilitation campaign.

A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.

Pak Thae Song awarded the flag of the Pyongyang Municipal Regiment of Party Members to the commanding personnel.

After the meeting, the combatants of the regiment marched with the regimental colours at the head.

Along streets of the capital city, citizens waved their hands and presented the combatants with bouquets and letters of encouragement.
