The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Samsok Combined Fruit Farm on August 17, Juche 105(2016) to provide the people with larger quantities of tasty fruits.
He looked round the orchards of the farm full of fruit fragrance, saying the farm not only opened a firm prospect capable of attaining the fruit production goal set by the Workers' Party of Korea that year but also sent well-selected early apples to the capital citizens.
He went into an orchard and felt apples one by one. He beamed all over his face, saying the trees are heavily laden with apples and that they look like clusters of grapes.
That day, he also asked which place the farm had taken in a national socialist emulation in the field of pomiculture in the previous year.
Hearing an official reply that the farm had come first, Kim Jong Un encouraged him to take the first place again that year and instructed on organizing a good socialist emulation.
He also said the farm brought about a large yield of apples despite the low blooming rate of the apple trees that year and that such experience should be swapped and all the fruit farms should follow it.
On November 28, Juche 106(2017), he brightly illumined the orientation and way to organize competitions for boosting the fruit production in various forms and methods.
It was to conduct competitions between large-scale farms, between farms in counties, between workteams and between sub-workteams so that the whole sector of pomiculture can seethe with the zeal for competition.
Since then, various competitions have been active in the field of pomiculture, including a competition in unit-area yield of fruit, a competition in good taste of fruit and a competition in the introduction of advanced technologies.
