The Korean people will significantly celebrate the 79th anniversary of national liberation on August 15.

The day, when President Kim Il Sung achieved the historic cause of national liberation by leading the arduous anti-Japanese war to victory, is a meaningful one which put an end to the eventful history of national distress and brought about a fundamental turn in carving out the destiny of the country and its people.

Since Korea’s liberation on the day, the Korean people had written the history of brilliant change, unprecedented in the 5 000-year history of the nation, under the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung.

He carved an original path to socialism, solving all problems arising in the revolution and construction with the Korean people’s own efforts to suit the specific conditions of the country.

The President originally solved the power problem to meet the people’s will and the specific conditions of the country and carried out not only the agrarian reform but also other tasks of democratic revolution thoroughly as required by the continuous revolution for socialism by putting forward the most correct line for the democratic revolution.

The agricultural cooperativization was creditably completed in the country in August 1958 under his wise leadership. Timed to coincide with this, the socialist transformation of private trade and industry was also concluded successfully.

Under the sagacious leadership of the President, a people-centred socialist system was finally established in the country, free from exploitation and oppression, which people had eagerly desired for a long time, and the DPRK was developed into a socialist state, independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and self-reliant in defence.

By carrying on the intention of the President, Chairman Kim Jong Il devoted untiring efforts to glorifying the country as an invincible power and the people’s paradise.

In the unprecedentedly trying period of the Arduous March in the 1990s, the Korean people performed epoch-making miracles and consolidated the eternal foundation for the building of a powerful socialist country under the guidance of the Chairman who led the country along the road of victory, resolutely foiling the vicious sanctions and stifling moves of the imperialist allied forces by dint of Songun politics.

By brilliantly inheriting the exploits of national liberation and building of a prosperous country of the President and the Chairman, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ushered in a heyday in all fields of state building with experienced and seasoned leadership after putting forth fighting programmes for achieving national rejuvenation and development and the people’s ideal in the new century of the Juche era.

Thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, who energetically led the struggle for increasing the country's scientific and technological force and the might of self-supporting socialist economy under the self-development first banner, the Juche-oriented production systems relying on its own efforts, technology and resources were established and modern light-industry factories conducive to the improvement of the people's livelihood, bases for cultural and leisure activities and modern streets and dwelling houses sprang up like mushrooms one after another.

He built up the Korean People's Army into elite revolutionary armed forces that are equipped with features of regulars, further boosted the county’s self-reliant defence capabilities and remarkably raised the international position and influence of the DPRK with a superb diplomatic strategy and proactive external activities.

Recalling the nearly 80-year history of the country which shone with prosperity, pride and dignity under the leadership of the President and the Chairman, the Korean people firmly believe in the future of socialist Korea which will be prosperous forever under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
