Our national flag is now flying high in the September sky at the time when the valiant spirit and limitless strength of our Republic is at its height, ushering in the new era of overall national prosperity.

The 76 years of our Republic is wrought with dignity and glory. The chronicles of miracle, during which our Republic shaped a bright future for our people and realized their dreams and ideals, embracing their destiny in the folds of our sacred national flag, is recorded with the wise leadership of the peerless great men and the patriotic devotion of our people.

President Kim Il Sung founded the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948 and brilliantly realized the aspirations of our people who had long yearned for a genuine state and government of the working masses.

The founding of the Republic transformed our people into dignified and powerful beings with a firm grip on their own destiny and our country – once eclipsed on the world map – could proudly enter the international arena as an independent sovereign state.

President Kim Il Sung , with his far-reaching vision to build a powerful country and a people’s ideal society admired by the world, walked the untrodden path for founding a state, marched through the shower of bullets on the road to the front and braved the arduous journey of post-war rehabilitation, leading the building of a prosperous country to victory.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il put forth the Juche Idea as the guiding idea of our state. With their outstanding wisdom and tireless leadership, they pioneered the cause of building a people-centered state and built up our motherland into a great socialist state that is independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and self-reliant in defense.

When our revolution was faced with the worst-ever difficulties, Chairman Kim Jong Il frustrated the vicious maneuvers of the imperialist allied forces to stifle our Republic and firmly defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country as well as the destiny of our people and remarkably expanded and strengthened the external relations with many other countries around the world.

Even in the face of extreme hardships, he provided solid foundations for economic construction and enhancing people’s livelihood by dint of a new revolutionary upsurge and built a Juche-oriented independent and modern national defense industry thus providing iron-strong guarantee for an invincible political and military power.

Thanks to the unyielding fighting spirit, courageous determination and persevering action of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , the dignity and might of our motherland reached a record high in the history of our nation and it fully demonstrates its status and influence as an independent and self-defensive power on the international arena.

Our Republic have now set the example of the times by building a prosperous nation with an invincible army through the trials and tribulations of the revolution. As long as we have the outstanding idea and leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the unity of the entire people, only proud victory and everlasting prosperity is in store for our Republic.
